Kristen Freeborn is a western landscape artist born and based in Central California. Her work primarily consists of oil paintings created in the studio as well as studies that began by painting directly from life in Plein Air.
From the beginning of her art career in 2018, the theme of her work has been centered on her love of horses, cattle, and the beauty of the landscape that she has adventured to throughout California.
“I can’t help but to feel the moment that is before me, to take notice of the little things that are so beautiful and pure that I experience when I am in nature, and I feel compelled to capture the moment and put it into a painting so that the moment can linger” she says.
Her skills as an artist have been developed through her own study as well as attending private workshops with some of todays top western artists
